The Principality of Zeon is at war with the Earth Alliance. On September 18, 0079, Zeon Lieutenant Commander Char Aznable leads a raid on the space colony of Side 7. There, he finds the Earth Alliance’s new weapon, the RX-78-2 Gundam, abandoned. He then decides to steal it for himself, setting off a domino effect that will forever change history as we know it. Five years later, a young Newtype girl in the independent colony of Side 6 becomes involved in the hunt for the missing RX-78-2 Gundam. It wasn’t long before events landed him in the pilot’s seat of the new Gundam GQuuuuuuX prototype and in the underground Mobile Suit Battle Competitions. Surrounded by new friends, he tries to understand his strange powers and find his place in the world, dreaming of a heaven where he can fly freely.
